His painting, "πππ ππππ ππππππ," is based on a vintage photograph of a Bontoc Igorot from the time when they were active headhunters. The work masterfully captures the layered complexities of the nation's indigenous traditions, the colonial gaze, and the modern quest for self-determination, amalgamated with influences from portraiture, tattoo culture, and contemporary political commentary. The addition of the crown and the overlaid text "Pusong Mandirigma" (ππ’π³π³πͺπ°π³ ππ¦π’π³π΅) disrupts the archival image, compelling the viewer to re-evaluate the subject as a figure of strength and defiance rather than a relic of the past.β£β£β£
